An illustrated talk by Phil Chetwynd of the Edinburgh-based Newtork of Photographers for Palestine about the work of Palestinian photographer and activist Hamde Abu Rahma.
In 2014 Hamde published a collection of this photographs: ‘Roots Run Deep – Life In Occupied Palestine’. This year the Network of Photographers for Palestine invited Hamde to Edinburgh to exhibit his photographs and to take part in Welcome to the Fringe: Palestine. As part of the tour, he was due to come in person to Inverness, On the 12 August it was announced that his application for a visa to travel to the UK had been refused. Along with many others Highland-Palestine have protested against the decision.
We were able to link with Hamde through Skype during the meeting.
