On Tuesday 07 Feb 2017 between 11.30am to 1.30pm, 24 Primary school pupils (P3-5) and 29 Secondary pupils (S2) as their buddies journeyed 2.5hrs from Kinlochleven to visit the mosque, as part of their planned curriculum and also raising cultural awareness in preparation for the arrival of our new Syrian refugee pupils in March. The children are signing up for UNICEF Rights Respecting School and they also volunteered at the public meeting on Monday.
As standard, We would welcome them into our mosque and had a discussion and it involved a power point presentation on Islam , a Q and A session and were provided Pizza & drinks.
One of the visitors feedback wes “We had a great time today at Inverness Mosque, where we received a very warm welcome. We were given a short presentation, observed their prayers, were shown how to put on head scarves, had our names written in Arabic & were treated to a lovely lunch. Thank you Inverness Mosque for your kind hospitality.” More can be read on their website https://kinlochlevenprimaryandnursery.org/2017/02/07/our-visit-to-inverness-mosque/
