On 18th Feb 2018, Inverness Masjid were very humbled to be part of this nationwide annual event once again. The Muslim Council of Britain Open day where mosques throughout the UK invite local residents of all faiths and none to explore the architecture and specifically to us the history of the former Portland club and the beliefs and practice of those who now worship there. The organizers aimed to make the local people more familiar and comfortable with Islam, a religion constantly associated in the press with a minority radical element. In the spirit of dialogue and friendship, volunteers from local community worked hard to organised the event which the Inverness mosque has hosted annually since 2015.
